Frequently asked questions

Is the US Bank Altitude Go worth it?
If you spend $400+/month on dining, yes. The 4x rate on dining is the best no-annual-fee rate available, and the 2x on groceries/gas/streaming/travel rounds out a solid everyday card. The $30 streaming credit and 0% intro APR are cherries on top.
What are Altitude Go points worth?
1¢ each for cash back (statement credit, direct deposit). Unlike the Altitude Reserve, Go points cannot be transferred to travel partners. This makes the Go a pure cash-back card dressed up as a points card.
How does the Altitude Go compare to the Capital One SavorOne?
SavorOne offers 3% on dining and 3% on groceries (vs 4% and 2%). SavorOne wins on groceries, Go wins on dining. SavorOne has 8% on Capital One Entertainment. Go has the $30 streaming credit. Both are no-AF — pick based on whether you spend more on dining (Go) or groceries (SavorOne).
What is the $30 streaming credit?
US Bank gives you a $30 annual credit for streaming subscriptions (Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, etc.) charged to the card. It's reimbursed as a statement credit. If you subscribe to any 2-3 streaming services, you'll easily max this out.
Is the US Bank Altitude Go hard to get approved for?
US Bank is pickier than Capital One but less strict than Chase. They look at recent inquiries and may deny you if you've opened 3+ cards in the past 6 months. Pre-qualify on their website first for a soft-pull check.
Can I upgrade to the Altitude Reserve later?
You can product-change from Go to Reserve (subject to approval). The Reserve has a $400 annual fee but gives 4.5x on travel and mobile wallet purchases plus Priority Pass. Only worth it if you travel heavily.
